Mornings can be crazy, but here are three quick and easy ways to upgrade your breakfast routine.
1. Add something pretty.
It can be as small as using a pretty mug or plate. Pull out a bud vase and add a few blooms from your garden.
2. Bump up the staples.
Quick and easy breakfast foods have their place on the table for a reason. I’d rather spend an extra few minutes in the morning in bed (or petting the dogs) than cooking an intricate breakfast. Take a few minutes one night making an fruit compote (I like this one from The Chalkboard) and use it all week to top anything from frozen waffles to yogurt to oatmeal.
Take frozen waffles from this…
3. Upgrade your coffee.
If you’re anything like me, coffee is critical to your morning. Using a higher-quality coffee bean will have a noticeable impact!
I brewed a pot of the Atlas Coffee Club‘s Brazilian coffee, which has medium to low acidity and notes of chocolate and hazelnut. Atlas Coffee Club prides themselves on delivering you fresh, beautifully roasted single origin coffee. The coffee you’re getting is super duper fresh and full of flavor, because Atlas ships the coffee the same week they roast the beans. THAT fresh. On top of it, if you receive a bag that wasn’t roasted within seven days of your order, your next bag of coffee is on them.
Atlas Coffee Club has an awesome brewing guide, so you know that you’re making your coffee correctly and getting the best flavor. Since we made our coffee with a Chemex, we followed this particular guide.
Definitely check them out. You can get coffee by-the-bag, or do a subscription (which will save you a little dough!).
Overall, these changes took a few extra minutes but improved my morning ten-fold.
Bon appetit, and I hope that the rest of the day is as good as your breakfast!
