Happy October

Even though things have been fairly silent over here in blog-land, my life has been super busy. Was it just me, or was September a month full of commitments? I’m not complaining; I’m restless when I don’t have enough to do. However, its nice that today is a quiet day to catch up on writing and laundry-doing and cleaning and tv watching and cider drinking.

Also, is it a coincidence that it’s David Ortiz’ last home game series and raining/gloomy in Boston? I don’t think so.

Since I’m sure you didn’t come here for the sports chatter, here are a few links that I’ve been sitting on for a while.

Happy October!

This had me in cry-laugh tears (and then clicking on all the other art history reaction links).

I love this striped top.

I bought these shoes during Nordstrom’s big sale, and I l-o-v-e them. These are pretty cool too.

I’m sure you’ve already seen this, but I’m linking to Jessica Williams’ reaction to cat-calling because it’s perfection.

Also filed under Articles about an Amazing Women That You Have Probably Seen: Chrissy Teigen shares her stretch marks and proves that celebrities are just like us! Lolz…but also, i love her.

John Oliver, you’re pretty cool too.

Even though I do not even remotely like pumpkin-spice (I’m a Chai kind of girl), this article made me snort in laughter. I especially appreciated the nod toward Bath & Body Works pumpkin products: Where drinking a latte and lighting a candle is basic, you’re about to blow the roof of this fucker by turning your body into Cinderella’s sparkling pumpkin carriage. (Thanks to Melissa for this amazing link.)

And for my chai ladies (and gents), this recipe looks killer.

Feeling this color hat for the fall.

Oh, and also these flats.

Okay, now off to Netflix and chill (with my two dogs and this mug of cider). Byeeeeee!

One Trip Around the Sun

Well the sun is surely sinking down
But the moon is slowly rising
And this old world must still be spinning ’round
And I still love you

I cannot believe it’s been a full year without you.

Still seeking your hand to hold.

What The World Needs Now

Find the corruption and injustice. Call it out. Keep calling it out.

Put love and tolerance in the world, and look to leaders who do the same. Vote for these leaders.

Be these leaders.

Happy Friday

Ooh it’s been a hot minute since I had a Friday post! I’ve had a bunch of windows open and ready to share, but then I get swept up in prepping for my weekend and I forget to hit that “publish” button. (When National Donut Day and a Beyonce concert happen on the same day, there is just too much sugar and excitement happening to sit still for very long. #bestfridayever) While I don’t have tickets for another Beyonce concert this weekend, I am getting together with some girlfriends for a little R&R: massages, dinner, sleepover.

I hope you’re doing something fun this weekend!

My girl Alex created Wayfair’s first blogger e-cookbook, which features simple summer recipes by bloggers from all over the country. She did a stellar job on it, and you can get your own free copy here.

Pit bulls are so misunderstood and misrepresented. This is a great project to help turn around the stigma.

A mini party on your feet. (And on sale.)

Happy Pride Month! Boston’s Pride festivities are this weekend, and I’m loving this shirt for lots of reasons.

Even in the summer, black is my go-to color and I love mixing-and-matching different pieces of black bathing suits. This top would be fun to add to the mix.

Make a donation to support the Hispanic Federation and you are entered to win tickets to Hamilton … and some hangout time with Lin-Manuel Miranda. A pretty sweet bonus for doing something good.

Arguably the best lip stain I’ve tried. It’s so creamy and long-lasting.

A very serious and important purchase for the summer.

Okay, now get outside and enjoy your weekend!

Happy Friday

Friday, at long last. I’ve been pretty quiet over here this week. There have been a bunch of fun things going on, but when I get home, I’m tired and want nothing more than snuggle my dogs and watch tv. And… if we’re being perfectly honest, I’ve been battling some ennui (caused by the time of year paired with a case of comparing-myself-to-others-on-the-internet… never a good idea).

BUT! Today is the first day of The Annual. Perfect timing to get me out of this stupid funk.

So if this time of year gets you feeling kind of blah too, I have a bunch of fun links to cheer up your Friday, Only a few more weeks until spring!

Holy cow. You guys, Prince’s passport photo slays.

I want to cover my ceiling with this.

Two amazing mash-ups: Misty Copeland (my hero) x Degas and War and Peace x the runway.

I want to try this face mask.

This DIY glitter tumbler may need to be made this weekend.

These macarons are so pretty.

My friend, and fellow blogger, Amanda is participating in Yoga Reaches Out in May. She’s raising money, and if you donate as little as $5, you’ll be entered to win a yoga mat that’s been jazzed up with beautiful calligraphy by posh + prep. Find out more here.

Ideal spring dress.

Target’s Who What Wear collection is cute AND you don’t have to risk your life to get your hands on some. Two of my favorite pieces are this belt and this skirt.

I foresee this dress joining my closet soon. Minimalist perfection.

The Oscars are this weekend- will you be tuning in? I probably will be, if only to see Leo in a tux (and hopefully channeling Jack Dawson).

Have a good weekend!
