Happy National Coffee Day! It’s a perfect holiday for a Monday, no?
This is a really easy coffee-themed DIY, full of lots of good-for-you ingredients.
Coffee is rich in antioxidants, and therefore has anti-inflammatory properties. The cacao nibs are also rich in antioxidants, and act as a good exfoliant. Coconut oil smells delicious, has lots of vitamins and minerals, and is a great moisturizer. The coconut palm sugar is also chock full of vitamins and minerals, and acts as another exfoliant. Cinnamon has antifungal properties, which will help clean your skin.
Basically, you will be glowing AND smell like a gourmet beverage.
- 1/2 cup coffee grounds
- 1/3 cup cacao nibs
- 1/3 cup coconut oil (melted but cooled to room temperature)
- 2 tablespoon coconut palm sugar
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix all together! (No one will judge you if you have a taste. It smells awesome.)
In the shower, apply the scrub and massage into the skin in a circular motion before rinsing off.
If you plan on using this on your face, be sure to grind the coffee and cacao nibs very finely. I left mine pretty course, and used it on my arms and legs.
Enjoy!
A special thanks to Chocolate Therapy for the cacao nibs featured in the scrub!
