Getting Ready for Fall: Jord Wood Watch

This happens every year.

I get really bummed about the end of summer, and try to cling to every aspect of it as August comes to a close. At the first hint of chill in the air, I completely pivot and dive into fall.

This hasty transition likely comes from the extreme dislike of being cold. If it’s a bit chilly, the sweaters are going on. This past weekend was Labor Day, and as if on cue, the weather was like “Summer, BYE.”

So, with feet in both camps, I wore cut-offs shorts (hi summer) with a light sweater (hi fall) and cognac leather accessories. My favorite part of this casual transition outfit is this unique watch. It’s made of wood! The texture of the wood watch imparts a lot more warmth than my metal ones. If a watch can make me feel cozy, this one does it. I envision wearing this on the outside of a fitted, long sleeve turtleneck as temps drop further. (And that, friends, is how my heart transitions to cold weather.)

This watch is also a killer color. It’s made of purpleheart wood, which I had never heard of before but it is a snazzy color and I wish more things were made out of it. Jord uses a variety of woods to create their watches, and has tons of styles in more traditional wood colors too. I’m particularly loving their dark sandlewood pieces.

I like using a watch for weekend excursions. I can keep my eye on the time while leaving my phone in my car/bag/anywhere but in my hand. Unplugging is so rewarding, even if it’s for an afternoon.

So, it’s all well and good that I love my watch but I think that you will also love one. Hop on over to Jord and fill out two easy fields and – BOOM – you’re entered. Even if you don’t win, you get a lil somethin’ somethin’ for your efforts. It’s a win-win-win situation. (Contest ends on September 13th.)
